Brendan is a co-founder of Shift and since 2021 has led the company’s scientific program as Chief Scientific Officer.

Brendan pioneered the first accurate single cell aging clock, and at Shift, developed single-cell aging clock models for human cells that were crucial in establishing the Company’s target identification program for cell rejuvenation therapeutics, as detailed in Shift’s preprint publication.

Brendan received his Ph.D in pharmacology from the University of Cambridge where he studied membrane transporter proteins responsible for removing chemotherapy drugs from cancer cells, and antibiotics from bacteria.
